Fly into the future from the
Jefferson County Airport
The Jefferson County
Airpark, located on County Road 33, is
near the City of Steubenville and Village of Wintersville in Eastern
Ohio. We feel you will agree, as have most visitors, that this public,
general aviation airport is one of the best in operation today.
Boasting renovated
facilities, the Airport management invites you to fly in or to stop by
and see the upgrades. In 2005, the newly extended 4400 ft. runway was opened
for use. A terminal building and 32 nestled-T hangars have been constructed
to enhance the Airport's attractiveness to both commercial aviation and
the general public. We are moving to expanding the runway to 5000
feet, thus enabling the Airpark to accommodate jets and other
larger aircraft.
Not only is the Airpark
suited for aviation, but it is also a major asset to businesses, with
several already located on the Airpark. We are five miles from the busy
Ohio River and less than 5 miles from the Jefferson County Industrial
Park. Because we are just a 45 minute drive from Pittsburgh, PA., our
Airpark gives pilots an alternative to the congestion of Allegheny County.
We also provide quick access to the major industries of the Ohio Valley.
Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, TIMET,
American Electric Power, DeNoon
Lumber, Weirton Steel, Wheeling-Nisshin
Steel, and the Mountaineer Race
Track and Gaming Resort are all easily accessible from the Airpark.

Since 1995, the County
and FAA have invested over $5 million in airport upgrades to meet
current safety and operational requirements. Visitors are impressed
with what we've done. |
But business and industry
are not the only benefactors of the Jefferson County Airpark. Medical
air transportation is within minutes of Trinity
Health System's East and West Campuses and the Weirton
Medical Center. It is also a short drive to the Franciscan
University of Steubenville and the Jefferson
Community College. Recreational facilities and tourist attractions
located anywhere within Jefferson County are within short driving distance.
The Airpark is a major
asset among the area's transportation resources and as such has a great
economic impact on the area. Many times airport location can be a deciding
factor when a new business or recreational facility considers relocation.
Our site is within 10 minutes of a major metropolitan area, rural farming,
and new home developments.

Ralph Freshwater,
a pioneer in the development of the Airpark, has helped turn it
into the modern, business-friendly facility it is today. |
The Airport staff will
assist you with contacting local restaurants, hotels and motels, and
limousine and auto rental services. The Airpark also can provide courtesy
transportation for your short, local trips. You can also find additional
information and services available on our area by contacting the Jefferson
County Chamber of Commerce.
Jefferson County is
rich in resources with industry, business, tourism, recreation, higher
education, and friendly people. The Board of Trustees of the Jefferson
County Regional Airport Authority invites you to visit. As aptly stated
by the director of Progress
Alliance, our economic development office, Jefferson County has land,
logistics, and location which make it an ideal place to live, work,
and play.
Please contact
the Airport for further information and details regarding its operations.
We welcome your interest and inquiries.
